This year’s holiday ornaments, round one.
All of these should be available for sale after November 1st at The Botanic Studio in Troy, NY.
Dawn had asked me earlier this year if I’d be interested in making some ornaments for her shop. The Botanic Studio is my favorite shop in Troy and I frequent it as often as I can, simply because I love it so much. I am honored to be a part of...
As I type this post it is snowing for the first time this year.
Luckily I’m inside staying warm.
Unfortunately, though, I’m in the midst of the holiday crafting fiasco that usually happens right at this time of year. Everything is a mess, and I’m trying not to freak out over the fact that a shipment I’ve been waiting for for over two weeks hasn’t even been...
My kitchen smells soooooo good.
We’re due for a decent frost over the course of the next few nights and I’m bringing everything I can from outside in. I put off addressing anything that needed to be dug up for as long as I could in fear that it wouldn’t survive the shock. I hate the idea of taking a plant that is thriving outside and jeopardizing it by putting it in a pot. ...
Saw the most amazing psychic medium for the second time tonight and this woman is fantastic. If you aren’t into this kind of thing or just don’t believe in it, please don’t lecture me on my “naivety” or call me a sucker for spending money on a reading. I simply don’t want to hear it.
But for those of you who do feel the urge to take a chance, or are just...
Unfortunately I’m learning the hard way that doing something nice for someone that makes life a hell of a lot easier on them, though making things much less convenient for me, doesn’t always yield good results. I’m getting screwed over big time and it makes me want to stop being nice. Boooooo.
I can only hope that karma exists.
I’m not sad to see summer go this year.
In fact, I’ve been bundling and layering up much sooner than necessary, I’ve completely abandoned the backyard although we could still enjoy a nice fire right up until the first snowfall, I’ve closed the windows despite the last few warm days, and I’ve turned to warm, comforting winter meals, especially at night, with...
I turned 35 today.
Exciting, right?
To celebrate, I’m doing yard work and enjoying the last of the nice days this year has to offer.
The bees are working diligently at my side, gathering what’s left from the toad lilies, tickseed and black eyed susans before I snip them away. The sound of them at work is so pleasant. Being out there helps me to relax and unwind on an otherwise...
Someone turned 1 yesterday.
Sweetest little shark bait a mom could ever ask for.
I’ve been sick as a dog for the last few days and this suddenly made me feel better:
Crooked Fingers: “Your Apocalypse”
Crooked Fingers: “Bad Blood”
Crooked Fingers cover “Summertime” by George Gershwin on the Tribune Tower
Much better.
So much for states rights.
Bend over, America! They didn’t prod deep enough last time. I see Obama really means what he says about the importance of jobs and small business. Lovely.
Brooches, curing and almost ready for sale in Troy.
I just love the smell of epoxy in the morning, don’t you? Ugh.
I woke up early today, poured my first cup of coffee and took the first step of my morning routine: checking e-mail. Imagine my surprise when I had not one, but two e-mails notifying me (thanks again, Alex!) that the newest Crooked Fingers album is available to stream...
Over the course of the last few nights, I’ve been watching Bright Star and I finally finished it last night. I’m so eager to sit down and watch it again, all in one sitting this time.
So beautiful.
I’m starting to feel that the props and location and costume and cinematography of a movie are as important, if not more so, than the plotline and acting. This movie was...
I love working in my craft room/studio/office at night. This half of the room is my fave.
I’ll take one of each, please! I love alllllll of them!
