Let’s just pretend that these photos are in neat and tidy sequential order. I wish. Regardless, I love playing with her in the yard.
Photos, as always, by Mike.
I’m due for a post, eh?
Honestly, since the show on Saturday night, I’ve been searching for the right words to describe the experience we had in Brooklyn. The truth is, there are no words. I think I summed it up best in an e-mail to Alex when I said that I danced myself silly and sang myself hoarse while experiencing what was, quite possibly, the best live show I’ve seen in ages. ...
It’s about damn time!
I’ve never been so proud to be a New Yorker. Such amazing news to wake up to.
Loafies in two days, kids. This gal’s most favorite band of all time.
I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am, and I can’t imagine how excited I’ll be on Saturday. Of course, the last Loaf show I saw was close to fifteen years ago, so I’m sure you can understand the potential hysteria.
If you’re a Loaf fan and don’t know this already,...
Emmet loves the hose. Like, reeeeeeeealy loves the hose.
I’m one of those idiots who always forgets to take the “before” shot when embarking on a project. I get too excited and dive in head-first, realizing much later, “Oh shit, I probably should have taken a picture of this before I got started.” This happens a lot.
In this case, the only “before” shots I have were never taken as, or intended to be, examples...
I helped Mike make his very first terrariums (terraria?) a few days ago.
He liked the process enough to make six of them.
His exact words were “This is very therapeutic, but I kind of want to smash the damn things against the house”. He was having difficulty positioning the moss through such a small opening.
I love them and four of them now adorn my coffee table.
If only...

We hosted a small gathering on Saturday night to celebrate the birthdays of two close friends, Kate and Randi. Simple: a very small guest list, dinner from the grill (burgers, dogs, sausage, corn on the cob with herb butter, pesto salad with sausage [Buddhapesto…mmmm], Kim’s pasta salad, bacon wrapped shrimp with horseradish sauce, etc.), a fire in the back yard, and cake. Lots of...
I love sun tea.
I’ve been searching for years for the perfect sun tea vessel.
Target apparently hires people to listen to your prayers because mine were answered with this little lass.
Do you have any sun tea tips or recipes for me? I’ve made one batch since buying this and it was good, but I’m looking for something different. Pointers?
Okay, okay. So I suck. I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, and while I’ve been keeping plenty busy at home (I’ve got lots to show you!), I’ve also missed being here. So, I’m hereby forcing myself to get back on track starting right now. Most of my time away has been spent doing things around the house (mostly outdoors), but I did take some time to see my little...
rest in peace

I actually cried this morning when I heard. So sad.
