I feel as though I’m due for a post, but don’t have a whole lot to say today. Forgive me as I blather on…
Although we’re only just about to say goodbye to July and move on into August (oh please, August, be kind to us!), I can’t help but feel as though autumn is right around the corner. Perhaps it’s simply wishful thinking as I tend to long for fall at this...

love.
Saw it.
Creepy? Slightly.
Overall…meh.
This still from the movie, though, reminds me of a highlight I particularly enjoyed:
Isn’t Patrick Wilson dreamy? I’ve thought so ever since seeing Little Children (great movie!) and Hard Candy (absolutely disturbing movie).
Check it if you want the heebie jeebies for the first hour and a half, but prepare yourself for a rather...
It would be an extreme understatement to say that I was saddened by the passing of Lucian Freud. Such a talented, passionate man, and one of my most favorite painters ever. I was so inspired by him throughout art school, and even after. There will never be another. He will be greatly missed.
Several of us ventured out to see Harry Potter last night. We actually tried going on Friday night but were shut out immediately upon arrival…shocker, I know. We were able to get tickets early in the afternoon for the 7:00 show, which turned out to be pointless because not only was the theater itself about half full, but no one checked our tickets upon entry. The movie was okay. ...
While visiting SouleMama’s blog the other day, I clicked on a link and discovered some photos from the Life magazine archives. LOVE! As beautiful as these women look, I consider a good day to be one where I actually put a bra on before heading out to water the plants. Kudos to them for curling their hair, applying lipstick and wearing heels before venturing out for farm work or any work...

…to Ben’s father’s farm in the Adirondack region to celebrate Ben’s grandmother’s 80th birthday last night. I love their farm. Such a magical place. And the gardens…ohhh the gardens.

They. Must. Come. Back.
Withdrawl is a cruel, cruel mistress, and the bitch has me down.
However, there’s a Bachmann tour and new album (comes out ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!) on the horizon. He’s lookin’ sharp in that tank top there, eh?
This is a movie about parking lot attendants.
And while that might sound like the most mundane thing you’ve ever heard, it was one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a long time.
I highly recommend you check it out.
Queen Anne’s Lace at night.
Sorry for the redundancy with the moon shots, but I’m still striving to get the ultimate moon photo with a simple point-and-shoot camera. I’m convinced it can happen.
This clip never gets old. Never. In fact, whenever I’m in a crappy mood I pop this on and it makes me laugh. Just yet another reason why I adore this man.
***please ignore the weird layout in this post…workin’ on it***
Homemade lemon curd for my aunt Kathy’s birthday cake.
I’m using this recipe but switching out the strawberries and replacing them with blueberries (in the batter), adding the lemon curd between the layers and icing the entire thing in a cream cheese frosting with fresh vanilla seeds. Thank goodness for birthdays, otherwise I’d have no excuse to make stuff like this.

I picked these little babies up (the plants, not the tomatoes themselves) while buying tomato plants at the farmers’ market. I asked about them, actually, when I noticed the bizarro shape of the leaves. The label was only marked ”Goldie” and I wanted to know if they were micro tomatoes or the normal kind. The woman at the stand said, “All I know is that they’re a...
