A frost passed over large parts of this area last night.
Up in the Adirondack mountains, where we’re headed tomorrow, it bottomed out at 21 degrees F.
Despite what the calendar says, autumn is definitely here.
I don’t think we quite reached frost temps in our immediate area, but I brought in my house plants as a safety precaution just in case. Everything out there is looking a bit shocked and sad and ready to call it quits. The morning glories on the other hand, are still going strong. I’m sure the hummingbirds, still around and buzzing madly though the garden, will be grateful.
As I mentioned above, we leave for the Adirondacks tomorrow morning to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and to renew our wedding vows. Our actual wedding was a total disaster, and shortly afterward we promised each other that when we hit the ten-year mark we’d do it all over again, but in the way we wanted it to be. So tomorrow evening, my husband and I will join hands on the shore of a beautiful lake and promise our lives to each other all over again. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a while. Hope we don’t freeze! 21 degrees is a bit much, no?
Thank you so much for this note. I needed it this morning. I hope you too have a great day.
